n 2018, EKONID followed its track of creating and
showcasing new Training and Education services
and projects. Amongst others, the Chamber officially
launched its new ICCQ Business Seminar Platform (www.
iccq.id) including a booking tool combined with the
Seminar Calendar allowing personnel of companies
and other interested entities to directly register for
participation.
Moreover, EKONID not only issued the final certificates
for successful Indonesian apprentices of the first German
standard Dual Vocational Education class that had been
started in 2015. The Chamber also started a corresponding
program in a new, additional profession in 2018.
Further, EKONID commenced its activities as an
official representation of the Senior Experts Service
(SES) in Indonesia, the Foundation of German Industry
for International Cooperation with the largest German
volunteer placement organization for retired skilled and
management professionals (Senior Experts).
In the implementation of its Training and Education
services, EKONID is partly supported by the “Skills Experts
Program” of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and
Energy (BMWi) in cooperation with the Association of
German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) as
well as the “ExperTS Program” of the Federal Ministry for
Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
German Dual Vocational Education & Training (GDVET)
A highlight was the signing of a “Declaration of Intent
on a Partnership in Vocational Education and Training”
by EKONID and the Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for
Economic Affairs in February 2018 at SMKN 26 Jakarta,
the ceremony being joined by high-level representatives
of companies as well as German and Indonesian
governmental institutions.
In November 2018 at ASTRA Manufacturing
Polytechnics School, Peter Altmaier, German Minister
for Economic Affairs and Energy and Prijono Sugiarto,
President Director of PT ASTRA International Tbk and
Chairman of EKONID, solemnly handed over the first
final certificates to 16 ASTRA Automotive Mechatronics
apprentices of EKONID’s 2,5-year GDVET program. A
second class of 27 ASTRA apprentices had begun their
Automotive Mechatronics GDVET program in September
2018.
20 apprentices of Siemens Indonesia, Mercedes-Benz
Indonesia, MAN Energy Solutions Indonesia and Barata
Indonesia completed the first year of their 2.5-year GDVET
program in Industrial Mechanics at SMKN 26 Jakarta and
the companies’ premises. For its new GDVET program in
Mechatronics with Bayer Indonesia and SMKN 56 Jakarta,
EKONID selected 14 apprentices together with the
company who started their theoretical part of the 3-year
vocational training in December 2018.
Training of Trainers (AdA)
EKONID examined and certified the performance
of 179 participants from companies, schools and other
institutions in the frame of 9 Training of Trainers (AdA
International – Basic Version) Courses following German
standard. 8 of these 1-week trainings, being conducted
in Jakarta, Karawang, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya
and Batu / East Java, were organized by the vocational
education partnership project of sequa gGmbH / IHK Trier.
EKONID conducted 1 training in Gresik / East Java solely
for in-company trainers as part of its Industrial Mechanics
GDVET program. Further, EKONID held 5 AdA examiner
coaching sessions with 43 successful participants being
admitted to EKONID’s AdA Examiner Pool.
Business Seminars
EKONID organized 14 seminars with 5 training
providers that are member of EKONID’s ICCQ Trainer Pool.
The trainings covered both technical and soft skills topics
including logistics services, sales, marketing, human
resources, business writing & presentation essentials
and interculturalism. The online-booking ICCQ Seminar
Platformisnotonlybeneficialbyprovidingtheparticipants
high-quality, practice-oriented and interactive knowledge
sharing in public sessions. It also proved to be a good
