Vocational Training
In 2014, Ekonid strengthened its activities in the training
sector. The aim is to create a structure for the successful
implementation of training courses according the
German dual vocational education system. We focused
also in further educating professionals for the increasing
maritime and oil and gas sector. Training courses (e.g.
welding inspector) will be offered in 2015. Furthermore
we have been working on the implementation of a
EKONID/AHK Training course AdA-International
(Training of Trainers), the commencing of the training
will be in 2nd -3rd quarter of 2015.
AdA-International (Training of Trainers) is a global
training program for in-company trainers and
instructors. Based on the experiences in the dual
education sector in Germany, where the training
program is developed, a similar program will be adapted
in Indonesia. Trainers in the dual system need to be
highly educated and experienced in their specialized
knowledge and in pedagogy and methodology. The
program is based on the preparation for a practical
and theoretical exam. The exam will be conducted and
certified by an independent committee. The training
program must be seen as an important step to improve
the quality of vocational training in Indonesia.
In preparation of the implementation of AdA
international trainings EKONID held two workshops
in October 2014. Participants came from PT Astra, giz,
TUV Nord, KADIN Indonesia, Sequa and representatives
from German chambers of commerce. One workshop
was focused on implementation of a Master-Training
for Car-Mechatronics. The discussion showed that
an adoption according to German standards will be
rather challenging. Nevertheless all participants agreed
that the discussion shall be continued in 2015 with
the objective to realize a pilot project in the future.
However, the AdA trainings are going ahead.
As part of the cooperation with PT Astra International
(Astra), EKONID started a comprehensive study of the
actual training situation at Astra. In 2014 already nine
production sites and training centers were visited and
evaluated and will be continued at the beginning of
2015. Astra will also be a potential candidate for the
EKONID program of implementing dual education
training according to German standard. A special
course for Automotive Personnel for the AdA-training
is planned.
Cooperation in Qualification of Professionals for
Maritime and Oil&Gas Industry
In November 2014 EKONID signed a MoU with the
Indonesian Maritime Collaboration (IMPC), the Biro
Klasifikasi Indonesia(BKI) and the TUV Rheinland
Indonesia(TRID). The partners want to cooperate in the
provision of information on qualifications, technical
and professional trainings as well as certification.
The cooperation is intended to develop and implement
an international personnel certification in the field
of technical and professional qualification required
by certain industries that are organized under the
Indonesian Quality Center system. EKONID will
act on behalf of the ICCQ (Indonesian Information
and Certification Center for Qualification) system to
provide information about qualifications and arrange
all stakeholders in respect to the provision of technical
and personnel certification. IMPC will provide support
in stakeholder consultation particularly in the maritime
sector.BKI will provide the technical and professional
